Mondo is part of the Deakin University smart energy microgrid project, a $25 million initiative at Deakin’s Waurn Ponds campus to establish an industrial-scale smart microgrid energy system and integrated research and education platform.
This multi-faceted project will include a 14.5 hectare solar farm and rooftop solar installation incorporating a 1 megawatt battery storage facility. The project brings together leaders in education, industry and government to design, construct and operate an innovative renewable energy vision as well as provide students with a range of hands-on opportunities to contribute to the future of energy.
