Beechworth and Thurgoona’s community energy offerings (solar panel and battery purchase offer) officially launched in November, 2018.
The launch follows keen engagement with Mondo from community groups, Totally Renewable Beechworth and the Thurgoona Community Action Group, as well as Renewable Albury Wodonga Energy.
The programs will both run until the middle of March, with solar panels and/or batteries being installed by trusted installers, Solar Integrity and others as the volume determines. The first step for those who have expressed interest is a site inspection. Inspection consider the specific needs and plans of a household or business. Subsequently a system is recommended and priced, based on limitations/orientations, costs, likely savings and customer preferences. Once a quote is received and accepted, permission to install is confirmed from AusNet Services and then the installation can commence and renewable electrons can flow!

It’s an exciting and busy time for northeast Victoria, with a second solar and battery offering also underway in Yackandandah. Solar Integrity is our partnering installer for all three projects, and with site inspections fully booked up until Christmas, interested participants will need to hang tight until the new year!
