Yackandandah’s Millennium Milestone

Yackandandah's Millennium Milestone

Across the small Victorian village, Yackandandah is again hitting significant milestones to assist them on their clean energy journey to 100% renewable.

There is a group of 210 properties across ‘Yack’ with Mondo Ubi smart energy controllers, combining as a mini-grid – or to use a more current term, virtual power plant.

As a result of the installation of rooftop solar systems, the leafy country town has reduced carbon emissions by the equivalent of 1000 cars off the road. Amazing!

This success is recorded by the generation of 4.2GWh of clean local and resilient electricity. Even better, this comes from well-less than half the total number of solar installations in Yackandandah.

Saving people money, powerfully addressing carbon emissions and doing so in a way that strives toward an interdependent energy future.

Mondo’s long time community partner has set a goal of transitioning to 100% renewable energy, with a target to achieve that outcome by the end of 2022.
