Update: Please note that this program is now closed for new applicants.Thank you, Southern Otways, for your immense enthusiasm and interest in this program!
Mondo and Southern Otways Sustainable (SOS) have been working together to explore how the region can transition to 100% renewable energy.
Southern Otways Sustainable is a not-for-profit community organisation with the goal of achieving 100% local renewable energy.
– Matt Armstrong, President – Southern Otways Sustainable.
This unique community energy partnership has led to nearly 50 smart energy solar and battery systems ordered around the Apollo Bay area. The program sought to, 1) make renewable energy more accessible to residents and, 2) to upskill locals with information about how solar and to help navigate the various technology available on the market.
Mondo supports local sustainability project with $10,000 grant
As a further show of support for the ambitious community, Mondo offered a $10,000 grant towards another sustainability project in the region. The funding went towards a solar system for the Community Composter in Apollo Bay – so now the compost is even more environmentally friendly! Program installation partner, City2Surf Solar, boosted the impact of the system by generously donating a 7kWh battery.
